The Russian Futurists reveal tracks from awaited album as they return to the stage for Wavelength 500 Festival!
Thursday, January 7th, 2010 The Russian Futurists are set to release long awaited album, The Weight’s On The Wheels, this summer. The Weight’s On The Wheels is arguably The Russian Futurists most accomplished creation to date. The Russian Futurists return to the stage to make their first live appearance after a year in the studio in celebration of Wavelength 500! Wavelength is a weekly live music series based in Toronto. It was founded in late 1999 by a loose collective of frustrated yet hopeful independent musicians trying to breathe some life into some of the darker corners of Toronto’s perpetually overlooked indie music scene. Documenting local cultural history was their aim — as such, every Wavelength series show since the start has been numbered. Wavelength has helped launch the career trajectories of now-internationally renowned Torontonian and Canadian artists like The Russian Futurists, Holy Fuck, Cadence Weapon, The Cansecos, Broken Social Scene, The Constantines, Final Fantasy, The Hidden Cameras, Great Lake Swimmers, Tokyo Police Club, Peaches, Caribou, Junior Boys, Crystal Castles, Fucked Up and many others.
